You’re invited to join The Colorado Microfinance Alliance at Renegade Brewing, a craft brewery located in the Arts District of Denver, for another
Microbrews for Microfinance event!
Every few months we will be highlighting different aspects of Microfinance and the work that is being done based out of Denver.
This month we will be featuring:
Board Member Bob Sample hosts a panel discussion on “Microfinance: Panacea or Pandemic”.
“Panacea or Pandemic: Micro Finance at the Crossroads of Greatness!” Facilitated by Bob Sample of RESULTS and Mike Wiesner of The Adelante Foundation.
We will explore various aspects of the negative media surrounding the micro finance industry in recent years, discuss the validity of the criticisim, and assess how we can return to a movement to end extreme poverty. Please come be a part of the discussion –
Bob Sample has been involved with the microcredit field for over 20 years. He learned about microcredit through RESULTS, a grassroots advocacy organization that has played a central role in the development of the field. Bob has an MA in Linguistics (specialization in Arabic) from Columbia University and an MPA in Urban Affairs from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Bob currently serves as the Colorado State Coordinator for RESULTS/RESULTS Ed Fund, a full-time voluntary position, and is currently serving as a grassroots member of the Executive Committee of the Board. Bob is also Chairman of the Interim Board of the Institute for Consensus Action in Denver (now ICA Denver).
