If you don’t frequently read Denver Busines Journal, you may have missed our very own Britney Woedl and Accion featured in a great article last month. As you can see on our “People” page, Britney Woedl is  the Regional Senior Loan Officer with Accion Colorado. As the Regional Senior Loan Officer, Brittany leads the Colorado team in Accion’s work to support entrepreneurs and small business owners with access to capital to start or grow their businesses across Colorado.

Gary Investments helps micro-lender seek stability

A micro loan given to a little northeast Denver childcare center represents something big happening in the nonprofit, philanthropic and impact-investing realm.

It’s a shift in philanthropy and its investors are hoping their model shakes up the way foundations and nonprofits do business.

Debra Williams received a $12,000 loan last summer from Accion Colorado, a nonprofit that specializes in small business micro loans from $500 to $750,000. The way she sees it, the loan helped her business, but it also has financially helped the parents of the 21 children who attend her center.”
