Capital Officer/Market Manager (Denver, CO)

Mission: Accion New Mexico · Arizona · Colorado (Accion) is an award-winning 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that increases access to business credit, makes loans, and provides training, which enable entrepreneurs to realize their dreams and be catalysts for positive economic and social change.

The Capital Officer/Market Manager (COMM) is the Colorado team leadership position and is responsible for building Accion’s brand and presence in Colorado and for developing relationships at the bank and philanthropic partner and leadership levels and with other community stakeholders. The COMM is responsible for major gift cultivation, fundraising and capital acquisition to support Accion’s growth in the Colorado market. The COMM is responsible for providing outstanding team supervision, driving high performance/outstanding results and for ensuring organizational goal fulfillment. The COMM will be expected to build and carry a portfolio of large loans at the $250K – $500K level to ensure program revenue generation.

The COMM must have strong alignment with Accion’s values and excellent leadership skills including, strong financial acumen and goal orientation, organizational skills and a record of excellent team supervision that has yielded outstanding results. The COMM should have a positive attitude, a sense of immediacy and be a creative, proactive, agile problem-solver. The COMM should be an excellent listener, open learner, self-reflective and a grounded, tenacious driver of results. The COMM should have outstanding skill in interpersonal communication and diplomacy.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree, plus five years of experience in fundraising, marketing, accounting, banking, lending and outreach efforts. Formal credit training and lending experience preferred. At least two years in a supervisory capacity with demonstrated outstanding results. Experience in marketing, demonstrated financial acumen, a track record of good leadership and management. Travel is required. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation.
